Zen Piano für's iPhone: geheime TapForce-Technik ermöglicht Druckempfindlichkeit

iPhone-Applikationen hatten bisher keine Möglichkeit, den Druck auszulesen, den ein User mit seinem Finger auf das Display ausübt. Das soll sich nun ändern. Mit der so genannten TapForce-Technik kann das iPhone feststellen, wie stark der Druck eines Fingers ist. Das bietet sich natürlich besonders für Musikapplikationen an. Die erste Demo-App dieser Technik ist nun auch das Zen Piano, das das Spielen eines Klaviers in verschiedenen Lautstärken ermöglicht.

Was genau hinter der Technik steckt, ist noch unklar. Ich tippe mal auf die Verwendung des Beschleunigungsmessers – scheint mir am einfachsten zu sein.

Ein gut gemachtes Video will uns ein neues Stück Software von Propellerhead schmackhaft machen: Record heißt das neue Teil und seine Stärke soll in der einfachen Bedienbarkeit liegen. Kein Tontechnik-Schnickschnack mit hunderten unverständlichen Dialogboxen, stattdessen ein One-Click Paradigma, das die Ideen und nicht die Technik in den Vordergrund stellen soll. Klingt eigentlich gut, im Video sehe ich aber ein mit Reglern vollgepacktes Interface…

Die Software soll im September 2009 erscheinen, interessierte User können sich jetzt schon für einen Beta-Test anmelden.

Audio Reverse Engineering: sonicWorx Pro extrahiert einzelne Stimmen aus Gesamtmix

Noch gibt es die Wundersoftware nicht, aber schon im Juli 2009 soll ein Programm erhältlich sein, das einzelne Stimmen aus einem komplexen Gesamtmix extrahieren kann – der Traum eines jeden Remixers!

sonicWorx Pro wurde auf der Musikmesse 09 in Frankfurt vorgestellt und sieht sehr vielversprechend aus. Im Video wird gezeigt, wie ein Gesangspart von Peter Gabriel aus dem Song “Don’t give up” oder eine Trompete aus einem komplexen Jazz-Mix extrahiert werden. Das hört sich sehr eindrucksvoll an – die Ergebnisse im Video sind natürlich “premade” und die Software wird wahrscheinlich nicht jede Aufgabe so meistern können.

Wenn das Programm aber nur ansatzweise erfüllt, was die Hersteller versprechen, dann wird Remixern damit in Zukunft die ultimative Waffe zur Verfügung stehen. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt auf den Sommer 2009!

iPhone Gruppen-Performance mit Bloom & RjDJ: Noch Teilnehmer gesucht

Am 4. und 5. Juli findet an der Popakademie Mannheim das Future Music Camp 2009 statt. Nadia Zaboura und Björn Eichstädt planen dort eine iPhone-Performance unter Verwendung der Applications Bloom und RjDJ. Ungefähr 15 Musiker sollen daran teilnehmen, gesteuert wird der Ablauf über “Dirigierpiktogramme” (siehe Bild oben).

Dazu ein Zitat von Björn Eichstädt:

Die Idee hinter dieser Gruppen-Performance ist, dass wir dem Telekommunikations-Instrument iPhone seine Distanziertheit nehmen wollen, dass wir also “Fernsprechgeräte” zur “Nahkommunikation” einsetzen, dass wir ein schönes, spannendes und weitgehend ergebnisoffenes Happening gestalten wollen, das der unmittelbaren Begegnung unter experimentellen und experimentierfreudigen Menschen dienen soll.

Hierzu suchen wir offene Menschen mit iPhone und einem Bezug zur Musik, die Lust haben an diesem Event teilzunehmen. Generell setze ich bei solchen Menschen auch voraus, dass sie sich ggf. für das komplette Future Music Camp interessieren.
